PROFESSIONAL ACTOR TRAINING - 1

OUR CORE TRAINING PROGRAM ENCOMPASSES BOTH MOVEMENT AND ACTING.

The full M1 program is divided into two 16-week sessions.

Mondays and Wednesdays, 10:30am to 3:30-4pm

MOVEMENT *

The movement training is unlike any other physical training for the actor due to its focus on how the body processes experiences through the five senses.  Movement focuses on the Williamson technique, created by Loyd Williamson to work in concert with Meisner-based actor training, and is essential to developing the inner life of the actor, imagination, emotional connection and truthful behavior

* CLOWN work will encompass a portion of the sessions.

ACTING -

Based on the principles of Sanford Meisner, the work involves a series of exercises that build upon each other.  The successful understanding and application of each exercise is essential to the success of the next and so on.  The first layers will demonstrate the importance of learning how to listen fully and to respond truthfully within imaginary circumstances through the "repetition" exercise.

This initial stage lays the groundwork essential to a clear and full understanding of emotional preparation, relationships, and objectives.  The goal is to achieve a strong foundation by discarding protective walls and emerging a freer, more open and honest person with an instrument ready to build a character, points of view, deeper relationships and crafting a role.

The Acting class is 3-3 1/2  hours each class and requires some outside rehearsal practice.

Final determination of acceptance will be made after a personal interview.
